I've searched for years for a comfortable, wireless bra in a beautiful, colourful material, which also shapes and defines, and looks good enough to show. Fed up with awkward, thin straps (difficult to adjust unless you take the bra off) and irritating hooks and eyes. Narrow straps can also strain the trapezius muscle (which connects the neck to the shoulder) and make it tighten, causing tension in the neck and head.
All this became more evident after bi-lateral mastectomy and back muscle reconstruction. After surgery, it is even more important to wear a bra which is super comfortable, doesn't irritate scars, and crucially also gives definition, unlike the ones which flatten in itchy, thick over-elasticated fabrics (particularly bad on warm days). A bra to pull on like a lovely camisole, which still defines instead of compressing. With a soft, organic lining next to the skin, ideally with an opening for an optional pad. And not just in black and white! A bra to give a literal and psychological lift each day.
I decided to track down the fabric and design what I'd failed to find. An everyday bra for everyone from first bra, yoga, travel, after-hours comfort, and after any type of surgery.
I thought if I can make it comfortable for me, it definitely will be for other women! It's taken some time, but at last they're ready to ship!
Based in the Sussex countryside, it's a privilege to be able to design and make it in the UK. There's some beautiful new colours and fabrics in the pipeline, and swimwear soon.
